handgun scopes
I was looking for opinions and experiences on handgun scopes.

It will be mounted on a 308 savage striker. The gun will be used 99.9% of the time to woods hunt for whitetails at less than 100 yards.

I was considering a bushnell XLT trophy, and a weaver 2.5-8. I currently have a 2 power swift scope on it. I also have a 22-250brl for gun that I use with an old style 10X burris pistol scope for groundhogs.

thanks

Burris fixed 2x on my Smith 629. Groups 4" at 100 yards or better depending on how much my hands shake. No need really for much more.

Robert

for that purpose if it were mine it would wear a 2x leupold. If i thought the shots would come over a 100 yards it would wear a 4x leupold. Ive had leupolds on some hard kicking handguns in the past and have never had one problem with them

I shot the gun last night again with the 2X scope and shot two different types of ammo.

The gun has a rifle brl that I cut down to 16"

150gr federal power shock SP. 2625fps

150gr remington 150gr core lock sp 2620fps

Both groups overlapped at 100 yards with total of two groups less than 2"

I think that I might just keep the 2X scope and not worry about it.

thanks
