Critter_KillerRe: A good begginers pistol?
I know alot about rifles i own a few. just not much about pistols the only one i shot was a .22LR and a .22 mag. But i can handle alot more than a .22. Im not lookin to pull a drive-by nor am i going to hunt with it. this will be ur general pupose "look what i have" pistol. That i could just go out back and shoot for the heck of it.I even know alot about pistol rounds just not the actual pistol.

Critter_Killerwell that .22 pistol i shot i have shot it since i could remember im an excellent shot with it untill my dad sold it bout 4 months ago. shootin cans at 74n yrds with my left hand (im right handed) was my best shots i could pull of on command. But now im a little older (big boys want big guns) and weigh about 250 lbs with large hands. Besides i got that squirrel thing covered with my grampa's .22LR marlin. And most other game with my brand new (not even a month old)270WSM.I live out in the most remote place possible so gettin robbed or mugged isnt really up there thats the excuse i use against my dad to get me a pistol. Let me put it this way, I would rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Critter_KillerThe local Wal-Mart has a mossberg 3''chamber for bout $250. would this be a good buy its got wood stock and forarm piece. they also got a synthetic with 3 1/2'' chamber (mossberg) but i dont think i need a magnum chamber it is $200. And both are 12 gauge.

Critter_KillerI want somthing that when friends come over i can take out of my bedside drawer and say "look what i just got!" and they will say "wow!, where did u get that?" then i will say "my parents were stupid enough to buy it for me, lets go shoot some shit." and they will say "what kind of shit?" i will mention the nieghbor takes in stray cats and those make some great targets.

That's all the wrong reasons.
A gun, especially a pistol, is NOT a toy to show off or go play with in the yard with your friends - especially shooting at your neigher's pet cats. That's part of why federal law requires you be 21 to own one.
And yes, I've shot cats, but only out of mercy to sick or wounded ones. I really can take or leave them, dogs too, or just about any other pet, but shooting other people's pets is not a good way to make friends in your community.

Ben589You've gotten tons of advice here. Ultimately, you just have to take all the information provided, weight through the opinions, and then figure out what's the best fit for your intended goals.
