bfrshooterVery nice. What boolit and load did you use?

kaboomI used a Speer 270gr. soft point over 21.5gr. of Lil'Gun, does about 1270fps out of this gun.
It left no blood trail as the bullet didn't exit. The bear went maybe 25yds after being hit. If I did this again I think I'd go with a heavy hard cast WFN.

bfrshooterI have had great performance with the WLN and WFN boolits. I love two holes in game.
It does look like you found that the S&W likes a little heavier bullet but some just open too fast.

cobradCongrats on a fine bear. I took one last fall and used 320 gr. hard cast WFN over 22 gr. H110 for 1280 fps. My bear was estimated at around 500#, and the bullet traveled nearly length-wise through him. I'll be using this load again.

collegekidandyNice bear! Where in Washington were you hunting? I didn't think spring bear opened until April 15.

Thanks, I keep telling my friend that likes to shoot hot 180gr 44mag bullets that slow and heavy is better.
