I have been hunting Black Bear in Idaho with Elk City Adventures. This is my 5th hunt with them my fourth with the new owners.
I hunted 2 weeks, well only one actually the second week I hunted with the young son of one of my buddies as he was to young to hunt alone. I saw bears every day the first week. I had decided to either take a BIG bear or a very small bear [I had 2 tags] as I have always wanted a small rug to go with one of my bigger ones. On the 4th day I saw a bear "small" enough and shot him at 28 yards with a 400 gr Hornady XTP from ny 5.5 inch Freedom Arms 475 Linebaugh.

The first week 3 out of 4 hunters got bears. The second week 4 of 8 got bears. My buddies son missed a nice cinnamon bear the first day we hunted together. We saw that bear one other time but could not get a shot.

Only one hunter out of 12 did not see a bear. The other 2 youth hunters both got bears.

Stitch and Joannie run a great camp. She is a great cook. They are great folks.
