The SBH grip is a little more user friendly on heavy recoiling pistols. I don't like the Dragoon spur in the back & would consider having it removed. I also found the rubber style grips stick in the hand too much as the rev. rcoils up. The best for ne for heavy recoil is the Bisley style. I have fired a .475Linb. on a Bisley frame & it was alittle more fun than I like, too light for the recoil.
That being said, I have a 45colt SSBH/4 5/8" as my backpacker & shoot 300gr bullets @ 1000fps w/ no discomfort.

I like the Houge monogrip. I have one on my 4 5/8" 45colt blackhawk. After a buddy of mine got a 475 I thought I would see just how close I could get my little 45 to his performance. I used sized down 45-70 405's and got past 1250fps before I had to replace the cylinder The recoil was not bad at all with the Houge grip.
