<brrrnt>454 casull and scopes
I recently purchased a 454 casull, ruger, SRH. I mounted a bushnell 2x28 (or 32, not quite sure) scope with the rings that were included. it seems to shoot well but here is the problem. If I put the scope back the whole way to get the best view, after about 25 shots the scope will work its way to the front of the gun. The screws are still tight, and the scope won't budge if you try to move it by hand. if anyone has had this problem or knows a fix please let me know.

Paul HBrent,
There are a variety of recomended ways to keep it put. A start would be to thoroughly clean the scope and rings with a solvent and apply a light coat of rubber cement.
I haven't noticed any slippage on my 480, and have put some pretty stout loads through, but will have to check and see if it's slipping.

<Dodgy Doug>I clean the scope tube and inside of rings with alcohol. Then I use some powdered rosen applied to inside of the rings. This always worked well for me. I have even roughed up the inside of the rings with a little sanding as well.
