hunteratheart500 S&W on warthog
Just back from hunting with Spiral Horn Safaris. Bagged this beauty last full day, 50 yard full frontal shot after stalk. Using 385 gr core-lokts, he spun around in the dirt and put final finishing shot in his shoulder as he lay there. Not huge tusks but very big body.

MS HitmanCongrats on the nice warthog! Thanks for sharing.
If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Bill/OregonNice warthog. A lot of character in those old, worn tusks. I'd love to hunt them again some day.

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." pagosawingnutThanks for the load information. Been looking and haven't found any good stuff yet!
Those 385 gr bullets are hell on bullet proof vests too! The ex chief of police brought one out for me to test the .500 on. First shot, straight through and 17" into a hard pine stump, second shot straight through Both panels and into the stump about 12". Still retained all of it's weight.
Way cool.
Good article on the 500 and 460 in the latest American Rifleman. I plan on sticking with my 475 Linebaugh! Enough gun for me! That is a nice warthog!
