DWright.475 Bullet?
Heh, fellers, what has proven to be the best all around cast bullet weight for the .475 Linebaugh out of a BFR?

WhitworthI like 420s, personally.

Redhawk1I have not shot any of them out of a BFR 475, but I use 400 gr. in my custom Ruger's. My 500 Mag BFR did not like heavy bullets, lots of key holes. I think a 400 gr. is a great over all bullet weight for the 475..
If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

MS Hitman+1 for 400-420 grain bullet weights. LFN is my profile of choice.

I do NOT have a BFR but I use 400 grain. WFN gas checked cast bullets in my FA 475 Linebaugh. Very accurate and I have no desire to try anything else. I bought these based on previous recommendations on this forum. You might do a search under my name if interested.

Whose bullets are you using, Peter?

Marko, this thread back in 08:
http://forums.accuratereloadin...=282107279#282107279I believe that I bought the Montana Bullet Works bullets. I spoke to them and they recommended the gas checked bullets.
Seem to work:
I posted this once before.

bfrshooterMy first home made boolit mold for the .475 was a 430 gr GC. It poked almost one hole at 50 yards but only with too much powder. I got a few stuck cases so I had to back down 1/2 gr. It is still good and will equal the 420 PB.
I have never figured why it has more pressure and only wants to shoot at high pressures.
It is from the BFR with a faster twist and the boolit will not fit a Freedom, too long.
It is a head scratcher because I have used up to 460 gr without the same problem.

Palladin8I bought the Lee .400gr cast bullet mold for my .480 Ruger and it shoots them really well. I'm happy with it for general shooting.

MS HitmanThat Lee bullet is a good one as well.
