uncle mikes cover the backstrap but i don't think i notice a difference in trigger reach. to me they feel smaller. i have hogue's on my 41 redhawk and Uncle mikes on my 45 colt and perfer the uncle mikes. give them a try and i think you'll like them especially when shooting heavy recoiling loads. harold
