recoilpadRe: Anyone Else Hunt With a Desert Eagle?
I have a DE in .440 Corbon that I take deer hunting with me. I haven't shot a deer with it yet. I have not gotten a close enough shot. I am using the open sights that came with the gun. The gun is very accurate if I do my part. I don't reload, so I buy CorBon ammo for my DE. I noticed that the ammo is headstamped .50 AE from Corbon. The weight of the gun helps considerably with the recoil. Shooting the .440 DE is like shooting my S&W 19 in .357 Mag. The only complaint that I have with the DE is it is very difficult to acuate the hold open lever to allow the slide to close after the "last shot open" condition.
