Bull SnakeAnaconda grips
Does anyone know of an aftermarket rubber grip for the Anaconda that is wider than the factory grip? I find the grip to be narrow, doesn't fit my hand very well. I have the 45 Colt, have been shooting factory loads so far getting used to the gun. I want to step up to hunting power loads, I'm afraid the gun will be hard to control with the narrow grips it has. I have a Raging Bull in 454 Casull that has grips that fill my hand. Why can't I have the best of both worlds?

Bigdog2Sorry no, but it's a good idea. I hadn't thought of it till now but someone makes a ---sorry I'm going to call it "large rubber band" that slides over polymer grips, to give them a more sticky feel. That might help.
I also tried Hogue's wood grips. They look great for show but aren't much, if any, bigger for larger sized hands.

I've a set of wood "Bear Paw" or Bear Hug" (?) grips that are too large for my hands if you are interested. I could put them on my Anaconda and email a picture.

Bull SnakeLarry, thank you for the offer. I will continue to look for rubber, if that proves futile I will contact you about your grips. I appreciate the reply.

That's fine, they've been sitting on a shelf for awile, a little longer won't hurt them. Let me know if you want to try them. The factory Colt rubber grips are split down the back and when I fired heavy loads they would squish open and pinch the web of the hand. I got the wood grips and did a quick finish on them to try them but they were too big for my smaller hand. I could have cut them down but I tried a set of Hogues which fit my hand fine. So the wood grips have just been laying on the shelf for 10 years or so.

DaveCPachmyer (spelling?) presentation grips are larger than the finger grooved grips that come with the Anaconda. All grips from hogue I have found to be too narrow.

Pachmayr no longer makes grips for the V frame Colts. I am looking for two pair of the Decelerator grips, I have the regular replacement grips, they are duplicates of the factory except not split down the back.

How much for the wood grips?

JohnK007I feel your pain regarding the stock Colt grips. I thought I'd made a horrible mistake getting the Anaconda because of the ill-fitting grips that came with it. Bought a pair of factory walnut grips and they were worse. Then I found the Hogue Monogrip. The pistol fits my hand like a glove now. My hands must be smaller than yours so I'm afraid they probably won't do you much good. Good luck in your search.
