Source for good holsters?
I am looking for a good hunting holster for my Ruger Blackhawk Bisley with 5.5" barrel. Does anyone know of a good source?

Seems like I'm trying to answer all your questions, but I've been down this road already. Depends on what you are looking for in a holster. Uncle Mike's is hard to beat for quality and price, either shoulder or hip. However, if you like something different, and it fits your carry style, I really like the bandito shoulder holster from www.pistolpackaging.com. Well made, comfortable, and very quick and easy on and off. I cannot recommend it highly enough, if you want a shoulder style holster. Not cheap, but worth the money IMO.

Try Hunter Holsters. Their stuff is pretty good, and prices are great. Checked out their site last week, requested a catalog and got it this week.

El Paso Saddlery is what I have for my Superblackhawk. It holds the SBH so well- I don't use the leather hammer tie- and can literally shake the thing upside down- without my SBH falling out. All of their holsters are made exactly for each different model. Give them a look.

I picked up a Bianchi Lawman for my 4 5/8 Ruger SBH. Very nice holster. Retail around $75.00. here's a picture of it from Bianchi's website. MM

Take a look at the Milt Sparks 200AW. I have one for my Bisley .45 Colt and won't use another.

Check out the web site for Dark Horse Leather in Fairbanks. For field carry, I use their mod 205 for both Bisley and RH. They were happy to modify it for the SA. It has an inside thumb break with good trigger and hammer protection and can be worn both strong side and cross. Nice guys to do business with.

Shark Bait, I have a couple of Uncle Mikes. Can't beat their price and quality for a synthetic. But for leather:

Every gun shop has a huge box over in the corner filled with them. I got one with my .45 New Frontier and I have no idea where it is now. It's not in the gun shop however. I would have $3 bucks more in my wallet if it were.
