trouthunterdjSAA for Turnbull Restoration???
Hey all,
I have a question as usual.
I have a SAA that I believe to be an artillery model. It is a 5 1/2 with mismarked serial numbers and stamped US. It is in fine shape but has been reblued. I also think the timing could use some minimal work. Would having it restored by Doug Turnbull increase value and function? What if I would like to shoot it? I know Mr Turnbull is here at AR on occasion and some of you have knowledge.
Thanks for the help,
ddj

trouthunterdjThanks for the info.
I haven't seen what restorations are going for lately. Has anyone seen what Turnbull restorations are bringing? Especially Artilery Models?
Thanks for the info,
ddj

WhitworthI don't know Doug's rates, but I agree wholeheartedly with TBEAR. Turnbull's work is second to none from what I have seen.

trouthunterdjThanks Guys,
I'm not trying to be difficult. I haven't seen any of Dougs work first hand. I have read about the quality of his work and am impressed by the pictures I have seen. I am trying to justify putting $3000 into this SAA.
I was given this gun by a family friend as a graduation present from college. It has been reblued but really is in fine shape. I do think it could be timed.
I am trying to get information on if by putting $3000 into this gun to be restored if (and I mean if) I had to sell it, what it's value would be. I don't want to put $3000 into a gun that will only have a $2000 value.
Thanks,
ddj
