trouthunterdjRecieved my Ruger Bisley from Mr. Bowen
Hello all,
I thought I would post my Ruger Bisley now that I have it back from Mr. Bowen.
It started out life as a Williams Shooting Supply 45 LC. Mr. Bowen started with his standard work, he check the forcing cone and did his trigger work. I had Mr. Bowen Remove the roll engraved cylinder and add one of his BCA cylinders and make sure it was line bored. I was a fan of the engraving and I like flutes on my cylinder to help turn. I also added the black powder chamfer to the cylinder and a new Belt Mountain cylinder pin. I used a ramp front with a white line vertically through the front sight and his whit outlined BCA rear sight. I really like the sights. They make aquisition and a steady hold easier.
I shot it with 9 grs of Unique under a 265 gr. Mt. Baldy Keith style bullet.

trouthunterdjI should have added that Cary Chapman made the black micarta grips. He did exceptional work.

MS HitmanHope you shot that group at a half-mile or better. Otherwise, you're gonna have bfrshooter telling you all about how worthless your revolver is.
Congrats on the custom job!

trouthunterdjThanks. I should have stated that group was shot at 50 yards off a bench and bags.

Big RedheadVery nice. Your load of 9gr Unique is a dandy. I shoot about the same load in my 45, actually it's 8.5gr and a 250gr homecast.
I love the Bisley's. All my fingers fit which aids in control and steady aiming.
I have two Bisleys. The first is a stock 7-1/2" 44 mag. It shoots unbelieveably well. The second began life as a 4-5/8" Blackhawk. I ordered a Bisley bottom half from Ruger and did my own conversion. It shoots really well too now that the cylinder throats have been reamed to .4525".
Once I was rabbit hunting with my wife and FIL and his beagles. We were working a rolling grass field dotted with shrubs and the dogs took off on a track. Soon they were heading back our way and the rabbit popped up on a knoll about 40 yards away. I rolled him with one shot from the 44. My FIL was standing there watching me with a big grin on his face. It was a moment I won't forget, but I have many of those from the days we hunted rabbits together. I could tell more stories but I'll let you all off the hook.

trouthunterdjThanks Guys,
I am enjoying this revolver as much as any I have owned. Also, I have found a new appreciation for the 45 LC.

loiblbCary Chapman made a set of black micarta grips for my Ruger .357 two years ago. They made the gun shoot much better somehow. Fine gun you have there.

billinthewildYou could not have done better. Bowen has worked on several of my revolvers and I believe he is the best.
