17 more days till Cougar and Bear season opens here in Washington. Finally! Been four months without a hunting season. Can hardly stand it. Slim

I wanted to go this August, for cougar and bear, but couldn't swing it. I'm hoping to make Washington next August.

Without dogs, how do you hunt them?

What part of Wa. are you guys hunting? What kind of handguns and cal. are you using?
I hunt out of Rockport but I wait until late September to get serious.
Have you tried a call?

Very Unsuccessfully so far. Just really started hunting cougar seriously about 2 years ago. Can't use bait but you can use scents. I am researching the scents. 257 Roberts in an Encore with 100 gr. Nosler BTs. The Randle area is where I hunt. Between Morton and Packwood. Ginie and I have a little place down there about 6 miles up in the woods. That's just a short drive for you Fuzz. Slim
