twillisI have never shot the 2in snubbie(Model 415). That would be something. Mine is the 425Ti which is the Tracker format with a 4in barrel in Titanium. I too wear double ear protection. I find it really makes a big difference, especialy since I already suffered some damage from the young and ignorant days. By the way, have you seen the new model from Taurus? It is a 41 in the Raging Bull format with a 6.5 in barrel in SS. I believe the model is 416SS. I have fallen in love again.

Thanks for the info. My 41 is a ss 415 and I love it but is a little loud on the ears. Last year I was lucky enough to get my first blacktail buck with my 14 inch ported 375jdj contender then finished him with the 2.5 ported 41. My ears rang for a week. I now have a pair of plugs I wear around my neck, I just hope I have time to put them in.
The deaf one.

twillisHi Tony, you might try the electronic muffs. There is someone that posts on this or another forum that uses them all the time. Says they keep his ears warm too. Another option is the Walkers game ear in one ear and a plug in to other. The electronic equipment amplifies game noises but cut out loud noises.

Still Crawfishmssmagnum,
Good shooting. I have found the same thing with my .41s'. I don't usually post on how well they shoot cause most longgun shooters can't buy a handgun out shooting their wizbanger superspeeds. I have a BullBerry 14 inch unported bull barrel that will do subMOA all the way out to 200m, all day, every day, any day.

My Reeder SBH shoots groups so tight that it is creepy. I have a new .411JDJ that I'll be shooting in the next few weeks, expect that one to do just as well as the rest.

Magnum MikeCrawfish, I have always had better groups from Sierra's than the Remingtons. They are next!! I am curious what kinda groups i can get with them.

<Colonel>Good there are still shooters out there with enough brains to still use the GREAT 41 Rem Mag, Elmer was light years ahead of the rest of the elite gun scribes. I also started out with a RBH and then changed to a (Ugh)Smith and Wesson 57 (8-3/8) I then regain my senses and traded for a RRH (7-1/2) then let that go for a T/C 41 Mag (10 in.) I now have a second RRH (5-1/2) and now see Taurus has a Raging Bull Model 416 in .41 Magnum. Taurus may be the best gun company in the world. I never had a 41 Mag that didn't shoot exceptionably well! I like to shoot SSK 275 gr. cast Flat nose over a healthy dose of H110 or the new Lil Gun. It's never failed to just flatten anything I shoot it at.
