Dave, if you take a look at the nose profile on LBT's with the truncated cone that starts to taper right from the brass, you will see it is not possible. My semi-wadcutter boolits for light loads only have a small band and it can't hold the boolit straight. The only boolit that will fit up in the throat is my big Lyman for the .45. Since I hunt with LBT style boolits, including ones for my home made moulds, I need a close fit in the rear of the case. Since your boolit has a long throat size portion ahead of the case, you are home free. You will not notice any change from the way you size.
If you are close to max with your loads, then you are most likely at the best load now. I still say if you were to go up 1/2 gr. you would see the groups open a little.
My friend comes over all the time with his Freedom arms .454 to test loads. His most accurate are just below max. As soon as he goes to max or a little above, it does not shoot as good.
I have not been paying attention either. You are shooting a very heavy boolit! I noticed that the real heavy ones DO need more powder. In my 45-70 BFR the 317 gr likes 31 grs. of 4759 but the 330 gr boolit needs 31.5 grs. Only 1/2 gr but it really makes a difference. Same thing in the lever .44, my heavy boolits need more powder. Velocity versus bearing surface versus twist.
Now that I woke up, I will say we are both right with our respective boolits and loads.
I wish we could post pictures on this site, very disappointing

Can you not see the pictures I posted on the first page of this tread?

I have been using photobucket lately after Hunt101 started giving me trouble.

Can you see this image:

Now that is very funny! I would really like to see a picture of your boolit. What site do I go to and what is the boolit number?
