Should be good on coyote and other pest control and maybe a close deer. Shoots better than I thought it would so far. 1:12 twist kinda limits it's use on stuff bigger than coyotes I'll reckon.

Shot 55gr SPs for basic sighting in purposes and plinking, can't remember the exact load because I forgot to mark the box but I'm guessing it's that batch of 21 grain RL-7 I made up.

5.56NATO (not .223) but I'm contemplating Ackley Improving it to match my Contender .223 barrel. Can't see why it wouldn't feed with a 40deg shoulder any better or worse than it does now as long as you mind your OAL when loading. For $400 bucks I couldn't pass it up. Got a 2X stuck on it for now and I'll see what she can do.

The last I checked -- back when I was carrying an M16A2 (I just dated myself! Big Grin -- not to mention the A-1 before it), the 5.56 NATO was a .223 with a fancy moniker! jumping

That's cool! Is it loud? I'll bet it is! What kind of groups will it shoot? For $400.00 I would say you scored, Tom!

Chamber dimensions and pressure tolerances are slightly higher for 5.56 but yeah.

Under 2MOA so far with fair ammo. Some people claim to have gotten MOA with careful loading and tweaking but I can't shoot a handgun that well at 100 yards without a good rest anyway so it shoots at least as well as I can. Pretty loud. Got a brake ordered for it that's sposed to direct everything away from your sight picture (side vents) and then I'm sure it will be even louder but then I'm deaf so nothing is really loud to me. Wink Wouldn't want to shoot it open eared much. If it impresses me more it might even get a nicer scope on top.

I'm also pretty sure that there isn't a flash hider in the world that would work on it. Not with the 9.5" barrel. Gonna go out back in a bit and see how big the flames are at night.

Standard is 10 but it will accept any AR/16 mag so this would fit too but it'd be hard to wear slung under a duster coat. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MAG056-45977-1298.html.

jumping

One hand style bullseye shooting it seems about right with the stock ten, if you're gonna use both hands I'd probably use 20 or 30s.

MatchKings loaded to see if I can manage MOA without a ransomed resting place today. Insomnia has it's uses...

Keep you posted, but for a short barrel 1:12 gun it does pretty well.

52 grain matchkings with 21g RL-7 managed 1.68" at 100. Might have to go up from a 2X scope on this puppy.
