How much penitration could one expect at 600 fps I know it well go through two one gallon water filled jugs. Has any one tried it to the max.

MS HitmanThe RCBS bullet is a good one. I can't say about 600 gps, but load it to about 1,100 gps and you won't find very many animals the will stop it.

bfrshooterThe heavy boolits do not shoot slow, you are so far off what the twist needs it is funny.
I shoot the Lee 310 gr, the 320 gr LBT with 21.5 gr of 296 and a 330 gr WLN with 21 gr of 296 and velocity is around 1316 fps for all.
I use nothing but a standard primer, the Fed 150.
These are not max but where the boolit has the right stability and accuracy.
Don't do this with a S&W, Ruger type only.
I would guess the boolit will do 36" of wet phone books since the 265 gr RD boolit did 33".
You will need a lot of water jugs.

MS HitmanGoing back through some old notes, I got 33" of penetration in wet newsprint using a 300 grain truncated cone bullet.
At another seminar, a 330 grain Garrett load got 31" of penetration.
