Do you have any other pics of your .500L ? If so, can you post them, or e-mail them to me? My neighbor let me shoot his FA .475 Linebaugh and I am hooked. Looking for a base gun now. I was thinking blued, because they are prettier, but now leaning toward stainless. The stainless Ruger Bisley base guns are about $60 to $120 higher than blued, depending on the model, but other than that it costs the same as blued for the Clemments conversion job. Why did you go with the stainless over blued steel?

Neal, when I bought my single action Ruger Bisley it was in a 45 colt, that is a great round within it self. It can be reloaded to some serious power. I think you would like the 500L, I thought when I shot it hell this is to much. As I got use to it I can shoot it with one hand and that is with a 475grain WFNGC at 1200 fps and an 5.5 barrel.The only problem is if you send it out to a good smith is cost, my cost well alot. I think they are great, I can tell you I am going to move to Alaska within 1 year and I my not carry a rifle or shotgun on my shoulder all the time, but I sure will have that 500L in a cross draw all the time.The only reason I went with SS over the blue as I will be in SE Alaksa. Rain and more rain and then the sea, so I thought it might hold up better for rust, but still I will have to clean it down all the time, I think not a big differents. Kev

Thanks guys. I actually bought this gun second hand. The stocks are a bit too large for my small hands, so I've had to change them out for some stock Redhawk grips. I'm going to try to make some grips out of epoxy hardened quilted maple.

With the factory grips on it, recoil isn't too bad with BB's 525 grain loads. I'm collecting reloading supplies for it, but will ahve to shoot Sundles' stuff till everything is squared away. Recoil is straight back, not much muzzle rise at all.

Bowen really did a job on it, it is an outstanding revolver.
