bfrshooterRe: .22 wheelgun for smallgame
I would go with the Ruger also. My preference is the Ruger stainless slabside target model Mark II. Most accurate pistol I ever shot. I take my limit of squirrels all the time with it. It loves the CCI Blue tag hollow points.
The Mark II is more accurate the the single six, but not by much.

375 alaskaI agree with the reconmened ruger single six, I just bought one and I don't know how I could have lived without it all these years.

Hunt4FunI agree with MS Hitman a Ruger single six is hard to beat. You might want to wait for one of their new hunters to come out this spring.

MS Hitmancrow1,
I don't have an opinion on the Heritage rough rider as I have neither handled nor shot one. I can only recommend you check around for a used Ruger single-six or maybe a S&W K-22. I have both of those models and each are very accurate. Potted many a small animal with these revolvers.
Just something to think about.

Shooter973I shoot a S&W 617 with a 4 inch barrel and it shoots as fine as I can handle. I can hit things with it that I would normally need a rifle to hit. It's that good!!!!!
I could just about get rid of all of my other 22 handguns and use this one exculsivly.

ddunnIt is hard to beat an old S&W K-17. Then again, maybe I am prejudice since I ended up with my Grandfathers.
