Is the glock m20 10mm sufficient for protection against blak bears in Pennsylvania? Also, what is the recoil compared to a hot 357mag load?

<Gunner>I'm not sure about adequacy for defense against bears, and I sure don't want to start that old argument again here...
As far as recoil, even with stout loads I think you'll find your Glock surprisingly soft shooting - nothing compared to hot 357's in a 4" revolver...
Stay safe!

<gone hunting>i would and do carry a 10mm for protection
in the woods i load 200gr TC lead hard cast
and 155gr Gold Dot HP for the street.
the 10mm with full power loads is a good bit more powerful than 357mag
10mm Glock is a pussycat

<Paul Dustin>I would go with a 180gr or 200gr and push it as fast as you can. 180gr at 1300fps and 200gr at 1185fps. You might stop a bear with this
