J_ZolaFreedom Arms
Hello,
I was looking at the Freedom arms express sights. The sight is a gold bead front and a V'd rear sight. Any opinions.
Thanks
John

M16They are fine for a defensive gun or one that will be used at short range, like 25 yards or less. For a general purpose hunting gun I would use a standard set of sights.

N E 450 No2I have a FA in 475 Linebaugh. It came with the standard partridge sights.
Let me say that i have also been a competitive pistol shooter in PPC, NRA Bullseye, IPSC, etc where partridge sights are the norm.
However for hunting I like the FA express sights and put them on my 475.
At 50 yards I have shot a few groups about the size of the palm of my hand. [This is shooting standing two hand hold.]
For hunting they are quicker and show up better in less than perfect light.
Give them a try. I much prefer them for hunting.
I am going to try and shoot a pig with the 475 this weekend.

JD HHI 6092I think it's a great set up. I had a FA front sight base installed on a custom Ruger Redhawk.

MS HitmanThey are a fine set-up for sights. I have witnessed a friend of mine shoot deer and groundhogs out past 100 yards with them.

casThey can be good for hunting, but not as good for target shooting.
Each year I'll shoot 0 to 1 round hunting?
Maybe 200-2000 at targets?
I think that answers the question.
(which is why I sold mine and got standard sights)
