Excellent holster. I carry it for bear protection in Alaska while fishing. I previously used an Uncle Mike's nylon shoulder holster but it tucked the sidearm too far under my armpit, making the weapon not accessable, especially while wearing waders. The disadvantage to the El Paso compared to the Uncle Mikes is price and it is less stealthy. Of course, stealthyness is not an issue with brown bears in Alaska but it may be an issue in other parts of the country.

+1 on the EPS Tanker rig. I've carried a 6" M-629 Hunter in one and the weight simply goes away. IMHO the biggest advantage though is the ability to still use binos, a rifle, drive a vehicle or ATV,etc without having the gun hang up like a belt rig will. Quality and resale is very high. Keep it clean,if you don't like it,stick it on flea bay for what you paid and it's down the road.

Yes..Expensive...and a long wait. But WELL worth it. You never lose buying QUALITY.

Hey Bobmn --what do you mean about stealth? I ordered a Bianchi Ranger Hush system[shoulder] it is nylon-loud when you brush against it and you have to pull gun slowly or it is loud then--i thought a leather rig would be alot quieter THANKS

I have a TC shoulder rig that came with a velcro flap. RIIIIIIP in the woods sounds like crap. I converted it to snaps.
Reminds me when I bought a Cabela's hunting coat. The sleeves are lined with nylon. I could not draw my bow without scaring everything in the woods.
Don't these people that make hunting gear go hunting? Confused

I get all my holsters custom made. They fit me and my guns better than the one size fits all rigs out there.

Danny Reed at Reed Gun Leather goes a great job and will make it any way you want it. 336-696-9047

moki, good looking set up you got there.
