Colt SAA clones, how many brands are there?
How many models and brands of Colt SAA "exact" copies are out there? I am interested in getting one...

I have the Ruger blackhawk LC [new model] and can shoot a 240gr bullet at 1450fps.A good hunting load.

Pyrotek, get a Ruger or Magnum Research ( parts made by Ruger) and don't look back.

Basically, Uberti (Cimmaron, Taylor, Navy Arms, Cabelas, etc.), American Western Arms(bought the old Armi San Marco plant), European American Armory (by Hw in Germany), and United States Firearms Manufacturing Co.(the finest, in the old Colt plant). For cap & ball, you have Uberti and Pietta (depending on model) and of course the great Ruger Old Army. All are fine for factory and woodsbuming loads. For heavy (or magnum type) loads stay with Magnum Research (BFR), Ruger and Freedom Arms.

Baretta came out with a SA revolver awhile back. I don't know how exact of a copy it is, but the look and feel real good.

Berretta recently bought Uberti and their gun is a refined, tuned version of the same.

Does that mean the Beretta "Stampede"(that's the name) is a better version of Uberti while also being an SAA clone? I've seen and handle both current Uberti and Stampede, comparing side by side the Beretta is indeed better finished and tighter.

Old post but good info,I have also been looking at all the new clones..Has anyone tried the cimmaron 7th calvery 1873 U.S. stamped on the side of the case colored frame, replica of the custard/little big horn calvery 45LC....What should be expected for accuracy.... something like 4in.group at 25yrds?Also What does the sight picture suppose to look like with the big blade front sight & no rear?
I started a new post with a pic..
