Here is my first handgun buck. It was killed with a 15" 7-30 Bullberry Improved Contender. The load was 36 grains of IMR4895 and a 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

I once shot a pumpkin that weighed about fifty pounds using a .375JDJ. It was blowed up after that.

Did you pose with your trophy pumpkin? If it was blown up, on second thought I don't want to see the pictures and you shouldn't post them as members of the Psychos for the Ethical Treatment of Vegetables (PETV) may be lurking........

There was nothing left of it. The spray field was a good 35 yards, maybe just a bit more.

I too am surprised. But, that's my point. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't..... Try to repeat that performance and see what happens........ I'll stick to my hardcast flat-nosed bullets........

Nice Bison, Tom!!

But Marko, XTP's come in all forms. The light for caliber ones are the ones that fail in big game. They have magnum versions also.
I don't like the 240 gr in the .44 but would use the 300 gr. As the caliber goes up so does the toughness. But so does the cost.
I will stick to cast.

I know they come in all forms, but for my money, I want complete penetration and no expansion as you already have the diameter..... Yes, and XTP might exit, but maybe it won't........
