I am lookin to get one of these things and just not sure which way to go. It will be chambered in a TC barrel so i havent really even considered the 410GNR......

I DONT need it for big game as my EA Brown 41mag barrel will more than work for that task. Just wantin ANOTHER 41, LOL!

As you may know I have both the .41 GNR in a duel cylinder 5 shooter SBH and the .41GNR#2 in a S/S 14 inch Contender. You would think that these wildcats would be of the same litter but boy are they different. For just plain fun shooting the .41GNR#2 Contender is the ticket. It is the first thing I grab when I want to relax at my range. It is easy to load for (so is the .41GNR). You can get 250g screamers that will take on anything that you want to put it against or 170g bombs that will vaporize the boiler room of deer or even elk. The only down side of the .41GNR#2 was getting brass. Tried Starline (only current maker of .445Super cases at this time I think)and was told 13 weeks for delivery. Went with Cabela's for about $6.00 a 100 more. Calela's doesn't list it in their online catalog. Starline has it for $94.00 for 250 where as .44RemMag cases are $54.00 for 500. Even with all that I'ed still have a .41GNR#2. I just plain like it but then I like the .41GNR also. Hell man get both!!!

Still Crawfish, how is recoil on the 41GNR #2, or do you have a muzzle brake on it? Also do you have any chronograph results?

I wouldn't let Reeder rechamber my Red Ryder!! With that said, I would look at a 444 case necked to .41. The SSK .411 JDJ or Dave VanHorn in a .411 x 444. Either is a better choice. Brass is easier to come by as are the dies and the .411 JDJ will out perform either GNR cartridge hands down. The .411 will toss a 300+ grainer 2000 fps from a 14" barrel. Smaller bullets can achieve 2300 fps or so from the same 14" barrel (actual performance). In addition you get a barrel from one of the best. Everyone bad mouths SSK but, I own several of their barrels and the workmanship, accuracy, and ballastic performance is all they advertise it to be. Dave VanHorn makes his own barrels and the 1 barrel I have from him is an excellant performer and an outstanding value for the $.

As you can tell, I have a bad taste in my mouth from Mr. Reeder. By the way, does anyone know who makes Reeders barrels blanks? Ask him and then post his reply. We may all be shocked at the response. Since we all pay top dollar for a custom barrel, I think it is important to know what kind of quality barrel blank you are paying for(hart, shilen, douglas, lilja, kreiger, etc.). Just my curiosity getting the best of me!!!
