The Anaconda is a .44Mag. and has a 8" Barrel and 2x Leupold scope and the Python is a .357Mag. and has a 8" Barrel and 2x Leupold also the Python barrel is marked "Python Hunter" I have not seen any Python marked like this.

The Python Hunter was made long ago if my memory serves me correctly. I'm thinking, late '70s to the early '80s. I remember seeing one with a serial number AL****. Which puts it about the same time frame as my standard 8" Royal Blue Python w/ser# AL****

If you have to track your animal, you aren't using a big enuff gun.

Colt only made 1000 of the Python Hunters.
It was marked as such, came with a Leupold 2x scope in spl redfield rings that mounted on the barrel.
It also came in a spl fitted haliburton case.
Yes they are in the AL s/n range.
However If someone every finds one with a LA serial number it is a factory misstamp, I know at least one of these exists.
I bought one Python Hunter new to fill out my collection, and then sold the collection in 1984 to start my own shop.
