I was thinking of ordering one of these Revolvers.Anyone shoot one or have one in their hands.Brian Pearce seems to think highly of them,but he is a Gunwriter so who knows.

This is one I have been testing and I love it. Looks good, feels good in the hand, shoots well, nice trigger.......and it's a .44 mag.



Oh, and it retails for only about $600.00......

I have 5 USFA revolvers, all premium versions with the fancy grips and color case. 4 of them are 44 Specials and one is the 6 shot premium .22 rimfire w/ ivory grips. They are much better in fit/finish/case colors and action tuning than the Colt SAA or Colt New Frontier and very accurate shooters. You won't be sorry that's for sure. I am a 44 Special nut and have at least 12 or 13 in total of various makes, both single action and double action.

Whitworth, I like that Uberti too. Nice price and it looks to be an excellent value.

I had two Ubertis back when they were first imported in 45 Colt. One was a Custer commemorative with a cartouche on the one piece grip, a bullseye ejector rod, and a 7.5" barrel. The other was a plan jane shooter with a 5.5" tube on it. Both of them were crap.

I had problems with both of them over many different issues, and Cimmaron the importer then, did nothing to remedy the situation.

I ended up replacing enough internal parts with Colt parts to basically have a couple of Colt shooters. Each one of them was in the gunsmith shop 3 times for part replacement. The gunsmiths commented on the poor quality of the metal used on the innerds, calling it pot metal. I could not in good faith sell them to anyone and ended up giving them to a couple of sons.

Accuracy was dismal to say the best. I've had enough of the Uberti line to never buy another.

Question:

From your experience has the quality of the Uberti line improved over the years? And also is Cimmaron still the importer?

Mine was acquired a couple of months ago and it has been great in every respect. Perhaps quality has improved drastically over the years. I have been completely happy with the way this revolver handles, looks, and shoots -- particularly for the money.

When did you purchase yours?

I'm not really sure on how long ago I bought them but a guess would be around 15 years ago.

Cimmarron was the importer then and they came in a yellow box.

Is Cimmarron still the importer?

My understanding was that Uberti made guns for a lot of importers and had different levels of specs for each different line of shooters they were making for different importers.

Does this square with your knowledge of them back then?

Benneli is where I got mine. 15 years is a lot of water under the bridge IMO.

I never even considered one back then, but they are evidently a different beast now. I really like this revolver!
