Reloading data issues. Please help

I just received my Cast performance .41 cal 250 gr. WFNPB bullets and am itching to go shoot some. The problem is they didn't include reloading data that I thought came with. I have lots of SR 4756, and a good bit of H110.
This bullet doesn't have a gas check. I didn't think one would be needed for velocities in the 1200-1400 range. Any thoughts?

Depends, each firearm is a law unto itself. I know at one time, CP posted some load data for their bullets. You may want to also check Beartooth Bullets and may also want to contact Marshall Stanton. He's a really nice guy and has been helpful in the past.

I also found that on the Hodgdon site, but it is for a Gas Checked bullet. Mine aren't GC. I've never shot cast bullets in anything bigger than a 357 and certainly not at hunting velocities. In short, I'm too much of a hardcast novice to know whether or not the GC makes a difference and this velocity will be too fast/load too hot. Will that loading be okay? Thanks again.

Makes no difference. Just make the boolit a little harder, like water dropped WW's so it doesn't skid the rifling.
Use the slow powder, H110.
I shoot PB over 1630 fps and have shot them to 1800 fps.

I know that it is or a gas Checked bullet, it indicates such in my post and is why I staded "here is a place to start"

I wasn't trying to come off like a smart a$$. I'm just looking for some direction, like "The GC doesn't make that much difference, and this load should do fine." or "You're right and need to drop it down 200 fps for hardcast without a GC."

In short, I'm looking for a hardcast bullet 101. I've checked several other cast bullet forums, but haven't found a simple "here's what ya need to know to get started". If anyone does know of something along those lines, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Again, thanks guys for the replies. I've loaded twenty rounds (plus three messed up while trying to set my bullet seating die) and will post my results later.

If you call or email Cast Performance, they will give you starting data for the bullet you have chose.

I have shot hard cast bullets with out a Gas Check form a revolver as fast as 1490 FPS with very good accuracy.

I look forward to your range report

Just curious, but how much H-110 did you load behind those 250 grain hard cast?

The Cast performance guy did call me back this afternoon and 17.5-18.5 is what he suggested. So I went with that.

I've seen several reports of people shooting 21-22 grs. but I've done that behind a 210 gr. jacketed bullet and it's a pretty hot load. If the 18.5 is accurate and not leading, I may push them a bit and see.

I posted the results in the Bullet Stabilization thread on accident. Sorry. Thanks again for all ya'lls input. It was damn good to get out there and squeeze off a few. The hardcast bullets definitely hit the ditch bank with a mighty thump.
