Any Revolvers in 50AE?

Greetings! As an FFL and avid handgun hunter, I am generally up on these things, but manufacturers listings have changed quite a bit over the last 5 years or so. [Roll Eyes]

I am looking for a revolver in 50AE, as I have always been rather partial to the caliber, and have owned an 10"Encore, and also an AMT Automag V in the caliber and had alot of fun with both. [Big Grin]

Currently, I am looking for a revolver in 50AE. FA and Magnum Research used to offer them, FA in a few varients, and Magnum Research in their BFR. Both companies seem to have dropped the 50AE listing from their company info. [Confused]

I think Phillips & Rodgers did conversions for this on Ruger single actions for a reasonable price, but do not now know what their fees etc and WAITING TIME are like.

Bowen & Reeder do excellent work, but it is too pricy for what I am considering.

SO, does ANYONE offer a factory/Semi-Custom 50AE revolver (double or single action) and if so, WHO??? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen revolvers in 45/70 and 444 Marlin. I can't see why there wouldn't be one in 50 AE. Although I think Casull is probably a better configuration.

I am not sure about Magnum Research, but I think Freedom Arms still offering this caliber in their famous Model 83, at least in my catalog. Unless Magnum Research has one which should sell for around $850, I don't see any other cheaper way to obtain one. A Freedom Arms Field Grade usually sells for around $1200 so it would be the least expensive in line.

Keep in mind that the 50 AE is a rimless cartridge and special care must be given to reload ammo for a revolver. I personally don't believe that it should be chambered in a revolver but I don't own one so what do I know. Good luck. Ming

There is plenty of revolver factory or custom : Gary Reeder, Bowen ,FA, Bfr,...T/C,....Desert Eagle,...

I have order mine FA in .50 AE, according Bowen, Reeder and people from FA. There is any problems with a rimless cartridges in a revolver. The only thing required for this round is a PERFECT chamber made. This is the reply I have recieved from these 3 firms. This round has a great potential most of the time unknown by shooters.

I also have a desert Eagle in this caliber. Great round and great gun.

Not revolvers, my friend... But the Desert Eagle is a nice pistol, shoots very accurately and is FUN to shoot! What do you use yours for?

For my Desert eagle I use mainly a 300 gr bullet with 30-32 gr of powder similar to H110.

With my FA I'll use a 385 gr bullet with 29-30 gr of powder similar to H110.

If ou want to buy a Freedom Arms pistol (used) then the 50Ae is the one to get. The price is usually a few hundred bucks cheaper than 454's and 475's. Check on Gunbroker and Auction Arms.
