x-caliberNolser Partition Handgun Bullets
Anybody used these on large game such as moose or bear? If so, how did they do?
I'm particularly interested in the .45 caliber, .260 grain Partitions pushed to 2000-2200 fps. I'm also interested in the Barnes X pistol bullets in the same caliber. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks,
X

meteHandgun , 2200 fps ?? I use the Nosler in the factory Win 300 Partition 45-70. They expand ,do lots of damage , and keep on going. But driving a handgun bullet at 2200 may do a lot more damage.

CurtissPartition on moose won't disappoint you. No experience with bear, but would be confident in either bullet under decent conditions..

mike7mm08I use the 250grain 44s alot. They are extremely accurate. They work exceptional on larger game. Deer and hogs pass through and massive damage. My brother used them on a bison. Through the lungs and two ribs bullet was under the offside hide. Perfect expansion lost about 10 grains of weight. A moose is as thick as a bison so you should be fine. If you want end to end penatration you would be better served by hardcast. But for broadside shots the partition is a great choice.

mike7mm08I will dig up the pics. Don't have them on my computer. It was just a meat hunt. We both took cows a little over 800 pounds. Someday I want a big bull like your avatar. The price was right and the frezzers were about empty so cows were just fine with us.

MS HitmanI hear what you say about meat hunting. It's just nice to see what the bullets look like after the trip; I'd like to see that as well.
