Thermacell!!!
My son called me from WalMart. They have Thermacells on sale for $3.00 (regularly $20.00)! That's 3 bucks. So I had him pick me up one. This is the 15 foot radius one. Appliance, butane cartridge and 3 repellent mats. Thought you guys may want to know. Can't go far wrong for $3.00.
Peter.

Peter, that is a smokin' deal! Well worth paying $30.00 for, let alone $3.00! I have been hunting with one for years and wouldn't dream of hunting Florida or any of the other southern states in the summer without one. Wonder how long the sale will be on.......

WOW! What a deal.
Our Wall mart gets rid of everything right at the season end and if you don't camp in the store you are out of luck.
Mine never had the Thermacell's.
They work great for mosquito's but not at all with the gnats we have here.Nothing works for them so if anyone knows what does, please, please tell me. They are like black flies.

I picked one up last year when winchester gave you one free with a couple boxes of ammo purchased. I tried it on a spring bear hunt over bait and it works as advertised. Be aware the comsumables are not inexpensive and you will not be able to fly with butane even in a checked bag.

Bout the only thing I have ever found that would keep the gnats away was Skin So Soft. Of course this wasn't very scent free, but I would rather smell good sometimes than be encased in the grey swarm of no see ums and/or bull gnats.

Back in the 80's when I worked in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska the warehouse kept a stock of Avon Skin So Soft for use as a Mosquito repellant...
