44 Mag kill on Idaho wolf
I just saw 3 photos of a Idaho wolf that was killed up in Northern Idaho by a grandmother with a 44 Mag. I was over at a buddy's house and he showed it to me. Hopefully I'll find it and post it.

The story was that this grandmother, who happened to be an experienced guide and outfitter, was bowhunting in Northern Idaho and encountered a wolf. The wolf saw her and charge immediately. She wisely dropped the bow and shot the oncoming wolf in the head at close range with a 44Mag. The darn thing was huge bigger than any picture I've seen of wolves or any live ones.

Maybe some of you lads have seen it on the internet also.

Ahh.. the old swithcheroo.. Cracks me up. What was the last thing to go through the wolf,s mind when he saw Grandma?..
Personally, I think everybody oughta shoot at least one wolf each. But thats just me..

My neighbor shot an elk a few days ago & the wolves starting howling pretty close to him & his son's, they got out of there as soon as they had the elk loaded.

I live here in Idaho and never given that much thought to having a threat personally from a wolf. I've got buddies that have run into them while out hunting and it almost always was the case of seeing them run away at 500-700 yards and knowing that hunters were around. The ones that I've seen were like that.

Looks like the conditions have changed out there and as the snows come the deer and elk will come down in elevation in their normal migration patterns and place themselves closer to urban areas. Now there may be more wolves following them and look for more episodes like this coming this winter.

I normally carry a handshooter with me while out in the woods but this has reminded me to be sure I do so if I'm out of the urban areas. I do have a concealed permit and carry in the car but that caliber might be a wee bit light for these wolves.

Come to Idaho and bag a wolf. Out of state tag fees are only $31.75 with no quota.
