p dog shooterShot some loads through my .44 taurus tracker
I just brought this a week ago.
I shot some 200gr xtp jhp at about 1300 fps and some 315gr wfn cast at about a 1000fps.
Vel are close but were taken from my 5.5 redhawk
Groups off hand at 15 yards were a few inchs but at near zero and a cold wind blowing.
I was more interisted in how they felt and the gun handled them then shooting great groups.
So far the gun handled them with out trouble. No misfires, sticky chambers or other nasty things.
I like shooting it better thing my TI 41 tracker the extra 6 ozs of steel dampens recoil better.
When the weather gets better and I fell Like getting the crony out and shooting longer range groups i'll post the results.

wheleniteI bought a stainless 44 Tracker several years ago and was immediately impressed. Trigger pull and accuracy were far better than anticipated, and the ribbed grips, although a little "squishy" really dampened recoil.
Shortly after though (less than 50 rounds) the revolver showed it's true colors. It became difficult to cock, then quickly it became impossible. I thought I had some thick rims or something, so tried it without ammo in the cylinder. Still would not cock. Upon inspection I found the cylinder was so far out of time that both lead and jacket material were smeared around the barrel's forcing cone, binding up the cylinder.
I hope you got a better one than I did. It was a nice size to carry.

p dog shooterI know this one has had just over 2 boxs of factory 240s through it before I brought it.
Taurus can have quality control problems.
I had a brand new Taurus Ti lock up and couldn't open or work the action as I tried it right out of the box cocking the action just once at the dealer.
For a lot of 44 mag shooting I use my redhawks.
After finding the right load sighting it in.
It well become a carried a lot not shot much gun.

Did you ever find out the cause of the trouble.

wheleniteYes, p dog shooter, the cylinder was enough out of alignment with the barrel that it was shaving lead and copper jacket material off the bullets as they entered the barrel. When it built up enough, it locked up the cylinder.

RJMHad the same happen to a Ti .41 Tracker...twice. Was shooting some Winchester 175 ST ammo and it locked up... Was able to open the cylinder but was never able to determine what the cause was.
Gun was sent back to Taurus and after a trip to Brazil was returned. Next time out it locked up again with just some Berry's plated bullets and 8.0 grains of Unique...and so back it went again.
Hopefully third time is a charm as it has not done so again. Just love the gun, light good DA and SA pull, much smaller and more accurate than a S&W 327 Airlite...
Using .41 Special brass...this is great as with the short cylinder the empties eject easily... It also allows the use of long nose bullets like real Keith style and LWN LBTs which will not fit in the Trackers shot cylinder.
Top...6" Ti Tracker
Middle...4" Ti Tracker
Bottom...4" Stainless Tracker...as of now still unfired
6" guns are rare and are excellent shooters... 15 yards DA...left target is slow fire and the right as fast as I could get back on target... So far no issues with this gun...

Wheelgunner45LCI had a raging bull 454 that had a timing issue. It was also shaving slugs from the cyl not lining up. Spooky stuff man! I sent it back and never had another problem. A dam good gun after that.

Woodrow SI have one of the rare 45 LC Total Titanium Trackers w/ 4" ported barrel. Makes for a heck of a packing piece. Never had any real issues with it. A great cartridge too. Rivals my Taurus bobbed hammer stainless 2" bbl 44 special.
