BER007ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Hi All,
A friend sent me this following link, you need to have Acrobat Reader to see it. It is in German, but you can see very nice picture of the thing (I can't name it a handgun)
http://www.pfeifer-waffen.at/Zeliska2.pdfYou can see a SA revolver chambered in .600 NE. This costs 20000 Swiss franc. If you want small caliber the .458 Win Mag is the minimum caliber.
I have seen some .50 BMG pistols but any in SA reovler.
This isn't a joke, gary Reeder spoke about it see the link

<stans>Then I guess I should shelve my plan for a single action revolver chambered in 20mm?

Really, how much power does one need in a handgun? How much can the average human wrist withstand?

BER007, thanks for the link!
That is one big mother...recoil actually doesn't look all that bad, but who knows. Anyone have an english version of that PDF?

<Gunnut45/454>All I can say is have a nut!! I've reached my power limit in the 454 Casul! I have no desire for anything bigger. If I can't kill it with my 454 I don't need to be shooting at it.

mike338Is someone making a "handgun" that will kill anything on this earth so they will get into the record book stating that they used a handgun? Or is someone just trying to make something that will shatter your hand and arm in one shot. Why not a 105mm howitzer top brake single shot? That ought to do it. Just stupid.

Paul HI'd seen that picture a few years ago. There is also a single shot 50 BMG around.
The funny thing is, you just know that someone is working a 700 NE
There are worse things one can do with their spare time.

<quickdraw>Dear lord. What are they gonna go now?
Anyone have links on the 50 BMG handcannons? I saw an article on them years ago.
Thanks,
QD

JAGYou know there were other pistols in a 600NE. I read an article once on a double pistol, about 10" long in a 600. It was used in hunting tigers as a last resort type gun. I havent been able to find that article again, even though it was in one of the mainstream gun rags..(found in barbershop about 4 years ago).
Would be fun, or painful!

claybusterWell,,,at least with that in a tight situation,,if you run out of ammo, you can crawl inside the barrel and hide 'till things cooled down

Copper CountryOne wonders if Elmers's cigar would fall out if he was around to see it!
Back in the 70's one of the grunts taped a pistol grip to the underside of his 155mm howitzer. He was the powder man and it made a fine picture, wish I had a copy.

HI,
I am getting a 500 Linebaugh and that is enough for me. I think many are getting out of control with the handgun thing for instances S&W 500. If one can only shoot one round and takes to long to recover from the recoil what is this round really good for, a one shot rifle or handgun ,this defeats the reason for a 5 or 6 shot handgun. Thanks,Kev

Lar45Well I have a 70 cal double pistol. It may be close to what you were thinking of for Tiger hunting.
It's a 16bore x 1.6" pinfire, double barrel, 7.5" bbls, under lever, engraved throughout, 156 years old, everything works great and the gun locks up tight. I've started makine cases from 50 BMG's turned down on a lathe. I made a bullet mold that came out at 810 gns. I had some problems boring the front drive band, the boreing bar slipped, I cast some anyway. They are kind of ugly, but will work for now until I can make another.
