This is a piece of well aged Franquette Walnut, quarter sawn. This is straight-grained with some subtle character, which is ideal for strength and stability in a working rifle. Very dense and strong; free of internal defects. Definitely a solid, high-quality working blank—perfect for a serious custom build. This wood is typically harder to find than English.

The Blank measures 43" in length, 7 3/4" in height at the butt from top to bottom, and 2.5" inches thick. It is heavy , weight is about 15 pounds. I will ship USPS Ground advantage. More photos at your request. Cost is $650 shipped to your front door.
