Fred GordonOrvis Helios Fly Fishing Rod
Thank you for looking. This is for a NEW Orvis F3 Helios Fly Rod. 5 weight; 4 section, 8.5 feet. This is brand new! It was very recently received as a gift but I doubt I will ever get the proper use out of it. It has been put together but never out of the house. $800 shipped to the first "I'll take it".
It is listed on the Orvis web site at $1098 plus tax and at Bass Pro for $998 plus tax.
If the rod is purchased, I will also sell an Orvis Helios II reel that is also new, never having any line on it for another $200. That is $1000 total which is less than the rod itself is listed. The reel is on the Orvis website for $259 plus tax.
I haven't sold anything for years on AR and back then used photobucket. I will spend a little time to see if I can add pics but can always email them if we exchange addresses.
Thanks for looking...Fred

slugslingerIt appears you are saying this is a 3rd Generation Helios rod (Helios 3, F Model). The latest (4th) generation of the Helios line came out earlier this year and is just Marked "Helios F (or D)". I have personally fished and guided with all generations of the Helios fly rods and they are IMHO just absolutely superb fly rods! The "F" stands for finesse (vs D for Distance), and is the rod I personally prefer here in Colorado.
Additionally, they are made in Manchester Vermont.

Fred GordonHi Slugslinger,
Thanks for the update, correction, and testimony as to the quality. I checked out the nomenclature and you are absolutely correct. In my dyslexia I reversed the F and the 3. It is a Helios 3, F model.
Again, thanks for the clarification. Don't you need it?

slugslingerNot needed by me! - I have "several", including both fresh and saltwater . . .
My favorite rod, and you can't go wrong with Orvis; designed and made in the USA.
