Re: How far offhand with a .22LR
I was in a club in Alaska that as a fundraiser hung up a sawblade that was about 18" dia. All the contestants paid $1.00 and took a shot ofhand at 50yds. Those who hit got to pay another buck and we shot again from 75yds. We kept eliminating and moving back (and collecting those dollars) until I was the only one who hit at 175. Pure luck of coarse. Those who missed all claimed to have shot through the arbor hole in the center. Lots of fun, and the club made quite a few dollars.

Off hand we shoot clays at 100 4x scopes on ruger 10/22 - box stock.

We have also done asprin at 40 yards - push them into the ridges in the bark of a tree- lots of fun and VERY challenging with a .22
