22 Cal Pellets
I've heard of people shooting 22 cal pellets (from pellet guns) from a center fire cartridge that just has a primer in it, but no powder. If this is true, how do you insert the pellet into the neck and get it to stay put? Do you insert it backwards (with the point pointing towards the inside of the cartridge)?

The SpecialistI put the pellet on a bit of metal and tap it to spread the skirt to fit.

carpetmanKory--I have shot a pellet out of a .22 centerfire using only a primer--but it was just an experiment. The big question was why? It didnt provide the accuracy or velocity you can get out of an airgun. With an airgun made to shoot the pellet, you use free air--no primer to buy and no residue to clean. I have used my bullet mold to make wax bullets and shot them from a .357 revolver using primer only.
Carpetman, you're right -- I wanted to try it just for fun around the property. I'll stick with the air rifle.
Thanks,
