My father's eyes aren't what they used to be but I know that in his younger years he could shoot skeet with an open sight .22

With an open sighted 10-22, I would often shoot black birds in flight. The 22lr is great fun to learn the skills of wind dopeing and hold-over that can be used in other shooting situations. We will attempt to shoot through the hole in a soda can at 100yds, and it can be done more often than you think. This is with a scope of course, but the cans do get more than you think. Also, 22lr pistol shooting at soda cans in the 175-200yd range is fun to see how often you can make a hit. The 22lr is the most fun gun to shoot there is.
