32/40 Winchester brass?
Anybody know where I can buy some? I've tried Midway, Graf, Cabellas, and Lock-Stock & Barrel. It's in all their catalogs but, of course, none have any. Sure would prefer to stay away the "Scroungers" and obsolete brass guys because of the high prices. I know Winchester occasionally has a "special production run" of 32/40 brass but who knows when that will be?
Thanks...Jon

I thought 30/30 could be resized to 32/40.
Try anealing the neck first.
Good luck!

Thanks hawkins, I'll probably give that a try when the dies arrive. I believe they will come out about .010" shorter than a 32/40 which, of course, won't matter in my single shot rifle. I would just like to have some of the "real" Winchester headstapmed stuff someday. Smiler

Now I'm interested. What single shot rifle do you have?.

Well...it's not quite a "rifle" yet. A friend gave me most of the pieces of a Clerke Highwall action kit. I've made the missing parts, bought a 32/40 reamer from a list member, a barrel from Douglas should arrive soon, and the stripped action is at Treebone Carving for the stock work.
The Clerke action is basically a 1885 Winchester "knockoff" but a bit larger. I believe they were available about 15 years ago as a kit of castings.
The scheutzen game looks like fun and I'm hoping this project can get me into it at an affordable level.

Sounds like a neat project.
Good luck!
