IMR 7977
Is anyone familiar with this powder? There is a guy in the next town that has 16 lbs for sale at a fair price but I'm not familiar with it. He claims it is comparable to H1000. Picking it up in person saves on the Haz-Mat as well. I never buy used powder but these are new sealed 8 lb. jugs in the sealed IMR box.

I've used 7977 in the 7mm Rem with heavier bullets. It is a little slower than 7828 and performs well both accuracy and velocity wise. Hope that helps

A buddy uses it in 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag, he likes it.

I use it in my 338 Lapuas, seems to work OK but I don't really have anything to compare it with.

Thanks for the response guys. I had assumed it was more useful as a Magnum propellant but was interested in other thoughts. I have to say that I still am a firm believer in IMR 4350 as my favorite rifle powder.

Do you find that it reduces copper fouling?

Give me a home where the buffalo roam and I'll show you a house full of buffalo shit.

I use it in my 280AI and 7mm Rem Mag. Used it in my 270WSM too but a friend just had to have the rifle.
