I have had no such problems with the Lee reloader press. This is the "C" press that came with the reloading manual.

My expereience with Lee products has brought me to this conclusion:
If it has moving parts, it will fail quickly.

The best improvement I ever made to my Lee Challenger press was dumping it and buying a Rockchucker.

I've had a Lee Challenger press for years. I used to use it to load at the range before I gave that up. After breaking the links the first time I figured out the problem and did a much simpler and less expensive "fix".

What happens when the links break is that the nut and bolt that holds them together, loosens up with use. When it loosens the links stress sideways and break. I merely got a slightly longer bolt and afixed it with a Nyloc nut which won't loosen. End of problem. I'll sell that fixed press real cheap as I no longer use it.
