<Rusty>Report Lyman 1200 DPS
Just finished loading up some cases to fireform for my 300 Apex tomorrow at the range. I used my new Lyman 1200 DPS (Digital Powder System).
It is a bit different system and even has a 30 minute warm up timer built in. My first impression are good. It is fast! I am using IMR-4350 and the loads the Lyman threw were consistent. I check them on my beam scale.
I also like the funnel pan that I bought to go with it. Just take the thrown measure and directly into the case from the pan via it's funnel spout.
The thrower can be taken down to its components for changing powders and clean. Once you see how it is done it is simple.
So, for my first time with the new scale/dispenser, The event went smoothly. I'm impressed.

JustCHow consistent were the charges as far as +/- .1gr? did you check them on a digital by any chance to see if the +/- .1gr shows up often? I have been contemplating the purchase of one of these units,...and am glad to see some feedback. Keep me informed as you use yours.
Thanks

<Rusty>JustC,
So far I think it throws +,-1. It however doesn't throw exatly the amount that the beam balance shows. If I set the DPS to throw 64 grains of RL-15, What I get is 64.3 on the beam scale.
I adjust the DPS to throw 63.7. It came very close. It was from what I saw consistant on whatever setting you seem to put it on. The weighing area has a clear plastic cover that I like a lot!
After using it twice now, I am impressed with the speed and the way the unit cleans up. I think the accuracy is there too.

<Hellrazor>I would run like hell if my scales were off that far, before you blow yourself up.

<Rusty>Guys, sorry I didn't check my post I have corrected the information. when I threw 64.0 grains on the DPS, the beam measured it a 64.3.
I then threw a 63.7 on the DPS and it measure 64 on the beam.
Once again sorry for the wrong information in my post.
