Do I Need to Size New Brass?
New Starline .45 Colt brass to be used in a lever action rifle. Been loading for a long time but can not recall this kind of situation.

You should be fine without resizing, but I resize it (actually run it through a sizing die and usually it doesn’t get worked at all…). But for me, I do all my handgun brass on a Dillon progressive so it’s technically not any extra work for me.

If there is an out of round case mouth, this fixes it.

If I was using a single stage, I would skip the step given my experience of no sizing occurring with the progressive press over the years.

Starline’s QC is pretty good. I’ve used their new 45 Colt brass as above and no issues- but I don’t have a .45 Colt lever gun.
