<Mudruck>Heaviest bullet in a 22-250 with a 1:12 twist?
What would be the absolute heaviest bullet I could use in a 22-250 with a 1:12 twist? Velocity isnt too much of a concern, accuracy is tops. Im wondering if I could get away with some of the heavier 70+grain bullets and still have them be stable.
Thanks

ricciardelliAnything over 63 grain should have a faster twist.

<six bits>I am building a 22-250 improved,Well its done but havn't shot it.
Has a Lilja barrel.I wanted to shoot a heavy bullet.Dan recomend a 1-12 for up to 63 gr.bullets.
Hope this helps.Top notch barrel makers have twist rate needed on a computer program.

rickt300I used many of Speers 70 grain semispitzers in a 1 in 14 twist with good accuracy.
