Powder Burn Rates ???
Hey All-- A lot of you talk about burn rates when it comes to indiviual powders. I've been wanting to learn more about this and how it relates to my loads. If any of you good folks could help enligthen me on this subject w/ maybe a website or some good literature, I'd sure appreciate it!

Assuming you are asking about this because it is new to you.

Do not make any serious bets on ANY burn rate chart being exactly right.
Yes, the powder at one end is quite different than the powder at the other.
But , if they are close in one chart they may swap places in another.
Powders will also swap places depending on application.

Good to investigate.
Bad to rely on for any useful data.

Gina,
If that is you with the red hair, I hate to complain about anything

But,
1) HS-6 is the same as W570, not W571
2) HS-7 is the same as W571
3) W296 is the same as H110, not longshot

Leedog - Most reloading manuals I've ever seen have a chapter on burn rates in them. As has been suggested, I wouldn't make any life-changing decisions on anything you read on the subject.

This information has some usefulness to the reloader but is far from the last word about reloading. Ther ARE a lot of other variables.

Clark,
I take it you have a typo. Should it not be HS-6 is the same as W540?

Yep,
There it is in my notes: "HS-6 = W540 [HS7 = W571] "
I knew I shouldn't have posted after looking at your picture
