45 ACP HeadStamp ???
I just sorted headstamps for 45 ACP brass. I have lots of brass saying "FEDERAL" -- no problem there.

But I have stamps that are "FC 96" -- I thought "Federal Cartridge, 1996" and that this is military rather than commercial brass.

Am I close?

Sounds correct to me Geng. But I'm thinking I used to see a lot of mil brass with FCC? You can probably locate on line a breakdown of all the military headstamp codes...or maybe ask someone in the cartridge collecting forum.

No problem: you're holding milspec brass made by Federal Cartridge Co., USA. Load it and don't be concerned.

I think they switched to FC sometime in the '80s, maybe before. I remember the first issue 9MM I saw was headstamped FC.

The lads are right. Load it and live happily ever after. It's good brass.
