Anyone worked up any loads for the M1895 Winchester in 405 Win? I recently acquired one and want to start reloading for it so any help will be greatly appreciated. I would really like to know if it is possible to get around 2100 fps with a 400 bullet.

Scott, I've got one of the new 95's. I've only shot the 300 gr. Hornady's but was able to get 2240 fps with 56 gr. of IMR-3031. That's good enough for me and what I'll use it for. After all the 405 isn't exactly a hot-rod. Anyway, I know you're looking for info for the 400's, I just wanted to pass along what I had. Hope it helps.

I�m loading the 300grs Hornady soft point with a charge of 53,5grs Rottweil R902.Shoots good in my double rifle.No pressure signs on brass.I don�t know about the real Vo, but Quick Load list it with 2100ft/s.
